Made to fit your requirements
In this post I will cover some of the unique elements of transporting items through airtubes by discussing size and weight parameters and how we utilize bespoke systems tailor made to our customers needs. The pneumatic tube business is certainly on of the more unknown resources available to market and our most asked questions by people is “what is it you guys do exactly?” This is not an easy one sentence answer so we will break down various aspects of what tube systems are and what they do to help our customers increase workflow and profitability. First and foremost is we need to understand what it is your trying to move? Often times we install tubes for weigh scale tickets or cash transaction and sample delivery through facilities. The first thing we need to know is the size and weight of your items. We then specify a carrier size that’ll support your needs along with a pipe diameter to support that carrier. Then we narrow into the particulars of usage frequency and any security, or environment considerations. Based on those parameters we present the customer with some carrier samples and set forth choosing system types and station designs. Often times we can use traditional more standard carriers and pipe but that is in no way the limit of our potential. A few years back now we had an interesting challenge from Kubota manufacturing to send large radiography scans out of the x-ray department and into their film lab for processing. This film could not be bent and we had to spec a specialized tubing size of 4”x7” and make custom carriers with 14” inside clearance to solve this requirement. There is nothing currently on the market to provide this so we set out to fabricate our own stations and carriers. Attached is a photo of the carrier which will last Kubota many, many years of service. When it comes to airtubes we encourage you to use your imagination and anything you wish to move up to ten pounds or so we can find a way to make a pneumatic tube work for you.
